ThinkRight’s Memory Activities: A Parent’s Journey into Right-Brain Education

Right brain education for kids

Hi! I’m Meera, and I’m a mom to Aarav, my curious and energetic 5-year-old. Six months ago, I decided to enroll Aarav in ThinkRight’s right-brain education program, hoping it would give him an edge in learning. Like many parents, I wanted something more than traditional methods, something that would nurture his creativity, boost his memory, and make learning genuinely enjoyable. And ThinkRight delivered beyond my expectations.

One of the first things that impressed me was the small class size. Each class has a maximum of just six children, allowing for individualized attention, which makes a significant difference in how kids engage and absorb. In a world where most educational settings are crowded, this intimate class size allowed Aarav to receive the focus he needed to thrive. From day one, he got personal attention, which helped him build trust and enthusiasm for learning. It wasn’t just about completing activities; it was about diving into each exercise with excitement and curiosity.

Then there’s Mansi, Aarav’s teacher. She is incredible! Her warmth and passion for teaching made Aarav feel comfortable and engaged right from the start. Mansi has a unique way of making learning playful. Aarav would come home talking about her with a sparkle in his eyes, often recounting how “Teacher Mansi” turned even challenging tasks into games that were fun and rewarding. Her approach to right-brain activities wasn’t just about teaching techniques but also about creating a love for learning. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and it encouraged Aarav to look forward to every class with excitement.

The focus of ThinkRight on memory-building activities, especially linking memory and peg memory, has been transformative. Linking memory was one of the first activities that caught Aarav’s attention. In this exercise, children learn to connect unrelated images to create a “story chain” that helps them remember sequences effortlessly. Mansi made this activity so engaging, encouraging Aarav and his classmates to come up with their own creative storylines. I remember Aarav coming home one day, proudly reciting a sequence involving a cat, a hat, a rainbow, and an airplane, as if he were telling an adventure story. This not only improved his recall but also nurtured his creativity and confidence.

Peg memory was another eye-opener for me. In peg memory, children attach specific information to visual “pegs,” like animals, colors, or numbers. Mansi introduced this in such a fun way, guiding Aarav to “peg” items he needed to remember to vivid, imaginative images. Aarav now associates items from his daily life with familiar visuals, making it easy for him to recall facts or lists effortlessly. It’s amazing how quickly he has picked this up and uses it regularly, whether it’s remembering things he needs to take to school or recalling details from his lessons.

Over just a few months, I’ve seen Aarav’s memory and recall skills skyrocket. Beyond just retaining information, he’s become more confident and independent in his learning. His ability to remember complex sequences or random lists has amazed our family and teachers alike. This newfound skill has positively impacted his schoolwork and even his social interactions—he’s eager to share facts or stories he remembers, which has boosted his self-esteem tremendously.

To any parent considering ThinkRight, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. The combination of small class sizes, individualized attention, and the incredible teaching from Mansi has made this experience transformative for Aarav. The confidence he’s gained from mastering these memory techniques is invaluable. ThinkRight doesn’t just prepare kids academically; it instills a lifelong love for learning in a joyful, supportive environment.
